PC Clock
My pc clock reverts to GMT every week or so, and I correct it to BST,making sure that the apply and ok buttons are clicked.
It may be that the clock has been wrong for longer than I’ve noticed, but it has been corrected at least 3 times in the last 2 months.
Am I missing something elementary?

Hi George
A couple of things come to mind.
PCs are usually set to synchronise their clock with a time server on the internet, typically weekly, if the PC is online.
Have you checked that the settings in Date & Time automatically adjust the clock for daylight savings?
If your PC is several years old (3 years plus), it could be that the PC’s CMOS battery needs replacing.
A typical symptom of this battery beginning to fail is the PC clock ‘forgetting’ the time.
The battery is used to power the CMOS chip that runs the PC clock, amongst other things, while the PC is switched off.
In a desktop PC this battery is typically the size of a 10p coin, inexpensive and usually straightforward to replace. Replacing the CMOS battery on a laptop is generally not straightforward and will be more expensive.

Hi Tim
Happily the answer was in your first suggestion.
In Date and Time the relevant setting was unchecked.
Thank you and best wishes.
