Webcams
I have Windows XP on my elderly (5 years) desktop and want to replace my webcam.
Amazon are currently selling some priced at £69 for £24.85.
And others, presumably less sophisticated, for under £10.
Which would be better for my setup?

What I meant was is the apparent bargain at £24.85 any better for Windows XP than the less expensive webcams?
To use mostly with Skype.
Many thanks

Hi George,
I’m not familiar with the features of the various makes of webcams, but in your position I’d google “webcam review” and see what other people think. I’ve found it a reasonably reliable approach when purchasing items like this.
You do need to be aware of whether a website is simply reproducing someone else’s words verbatim or reporting on a real test of the item.
(The Google search I suggested above produced over 500,000 results just for the UK, so make sure you’re sitting comfortably…)

Hi Chris
As you say there are a staggering number websites.
So I’ve opted to join Which? for £1 for one month to get acccess to their webcam Best Buys.
Many thanks
