Wireless printer
I’ve just bought a new Cannon MP560 printer and have it working successfully using a USB cable. However I’m having problems installing the wireless connection. I use a Belkin45g router. Advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Tom,
I’ve set up a couple of wireless printers for friends and it can be a lengthy process but it’s important to tackle the job methodically, following the manual.
Firstly, set up the printer using the USB cable, as you have done.
Secondly, give the printer the credentials it needs in order to connect to your router, namely the network name and the password. The printer should now start listening wirelessly for any print jobs sent to it.
Thirdly, configure the printer installation on your PC so that it sends print jobs via the router rather than the USB cable. (It’s often useful to create a new printer device for the wireless connection, retaining the existing USB printer icon in case of problems.)
Hope that helps.

Many thanks for that Chris. I’ll give it a go, so wish me luck!
